We accept bookings up to several months in advance, operating under a 'first in, first served' policy. Under the 'Dress Me' tab you will find all our garments available to buy or rent. Once the booking has been made, the payment is required to be paid in full to secure your booking. Dry cleaning fees are included in the rental price. Dresses are for collection only.
W E A R
Show off in your rental piece. Although you may not be the first to wear the garment and it may not be brand new, we do everything we can to keep it in the most pristine condition. Please be mindful of embellished clutches or jewelry that may snag the material, and avoid spray perfumes or beauty sprays directly onto the material.
R E T U R N
After your event, all you need to do is return your item back to us and to ensure it is received by the specified return date so that we can clean and prepare it for the next person.

The Love Generation ensures the availability of all rental garments, and this relies heavily on timely returns. Garments can be consistently booked out and by delaying the return of a garment it can potentially inconvenience the following rental customer. No-one wants to be left without an outfit for their event. If garments are not returned on the agreed return date, late fees will be charged at 50% of the rental fee a day for every day it is late + the cost of any subsequent rentals that had to be canceled due to the late return. In the case that a garment is not returned at all, due to it being stolen, lost or kept by the borrower, the full RRP will be charged on top of the rental price that was paid.

Our biggest piece of advice, when wearing a hire garment is to treat it as if it were your own. In the situation, the garment is damaged while in your care, the best thing to do is to not stress and notify us as soon as possible so we can come up with a quick solution. The matter must be emailed through to the day after your event not upon the return of the garment.
The following rules apply to damaged garments:
• If the garment needs to be dry-cleaned again, a minimum fee of R400 will be charged. (Do not try and wash stains out yourself this only makes them worse/sets them in).
• If the garment needs a minor repair, (e.g. zipper needs fixing, strap replacement, lost beadwork or hem taken up as a result of damage), a minimum fee from R400-R1000 will be charged.
• If the damage to the garment means it cannot be used again for hire, 100% of the RRP price is charged. Note the RRP is found in the production description of eachgarment.
Any charges will be discussed with the borrower before processing.

When placing and fulfilling a rental booking it constitutes as an agreement to our terms and conditions and to our hiring procedure.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE AND HIRE
Between THE LOVE GENERATION (Hereafter referred to as “The Love Generation”) and the Customer.
The Love Generation rent and sell Wedding Dresses, Accessories, Lingerie and Gifts to Customers. It strives to provide Customers with a personalised experience and it is therefore necessary to agree the following terms of service:
“Alteration” means any change effected to a Dress as it is found in stock in the shop at the time the Customer first makes an enquiry and/or sees the Dress and/or any alteration made to the dress as it is after the first fitting;
“Cash” means a credit card, a debit card or cash notes;
“Customer(s)” means any person requiring the Services to be rendered;
“Dress” means any of the garments sold and/or rented to Customers by The Love Generation from time to time;
“Services” means the personalised services of renting and altering; selling and altering and/or custom making wedding dresses for/to Customers;
“Standard Price List” means The Love Generation price list, as amended from time to time;
“Showroom Hours” means 15h00 to 20h00 from Monday to Friday and 08h00 to 13h00 on a Saturday. The Showroom is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays in South Africa;
2. APPOINTMENTS & FITTINGS
2.1. Wedding Dress Customers will only be seen by pre-arranged appointment to ensure a personalised service;
2.2. All appointments to view/fit Dresses will be Free of Charge at The Love Generation’ hourly rate, as advised from time to time and will last for a maximum time of two hours;
2.3. The Love Generation sell and Rent dresses to Customers. Certain selected Dresses are however not available for rent, due to the design and/or particular fabrics used, at The Love Generation’ sole discretion;
2.4. All items are subject to availability and certain designs can only be made in certain materials at The Love Generation’ sole discretion; Approximately 10 – 12 weeks is required for manufacture of custom-made orders;
2.5. Standard cleaning fees are included in the rental price, NO DRESS RENTED MAY BE CLEANED, WASHED OR DRY CLEANED BY THE CLIENT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, AS THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRESS;
2.6. Once a booking is made for a particular Dress, 2(two) fittings will be included in the price for the Dress. Any additional fittings will be charged at The Love Generation Standard Price List prices from time to time;
2.7. Fittings Procedures:
2.8. First Fitting: this appointment consists of an 2 (one) hour fitting on a Monday to Friday during Showroom Hours and as arranged upfront with The Love Generation, which gives the Customer the opportunity to choose accessories to go with the Dress (if applicable). The Love Generation will take the bride’s measurements at this fitting and record them, as The Love Generation will charge for alterations due to weight gain/loss thereafter. Any alterations additional to that agreed at this fitting will also be charged for extra as and when they are requested and if time allows for them to be done;
2.9. The Customer may also bring along her own accessories to fit with the Dress at this appointment;
2.10. Second Fitting and Collection: The Dress is fitted (and altered if necessary) one last time to ensure perfection before the Customer takes the dress;
2.11. Any other fittings allowed for any specific reason will count towards fittings as per the cancellations policy in paragraph 9 of this agreement;
2.12. Although The Love Generation takes care to provide you with a clean and steamed Dress, it draws your attention to the fact that a Dress may crease in transit and that you should arrange for a steamer to ensure a creaseless Dress on the wedding day;
3. BOOKINGS & ORDERS
3.1. Products displayed in the website images are subject to availability;
3.2. The customer must supply to the hirer acceptable proof of identity. No ID – No Hire;
3.3. Hire items remain the property of the hirer at all times;
3.4. A deposit equal to 50% (fifty percent) of the total Purchase Price and/or rental price is payable on making a booking to either buy, rent or have a Dress custom made; Expected delivery dates supplied for custom-made orders are an estimate only;
3.5. I have consulted with their sales person or an external professional seamstress and have agreed upon the measurements that is best suitable for me;
3.6. Cancellation of any order shall attract a reasonable cancellation fee and due to the nature of the Services, such fee may equal or exceed the 50% (fifty percent) deposit amount;
3.7. No booking shall be accepted (i.e. a dress set aside) before and unless these terms and conditions are accepted and returned signed to The Love Generation;
3.8. The remainder of the Purchase Price shall be payable in full on the day of collection and/or collection from the preferred provider for alterations if applicable, whichever is the earlier. A Dress will only be released on cleared funds (proof of purchase alone will not be accepted) and/or payment with a debit, credit card or cash;
4.1. All appointments will be free of charge; we would appreciate an early cancellation message if for any reason you cannot attend;
4.2. All amounts payable shall be payable in full in cash. No cheques will be accepted;
4.3. Where credit card details are left with the branch as a means of security deposit, the customer authorizes the hirer to debit the customer's account in the event of loss, damage or late return as stated in these terms and conditions;
5.1. The Love Generation may, in its sole discretion, allow a Customer to have minimal alterations done by The Love Generation, to a Dress that is rented to the Customer; no major alterations such as changes to the neckline or train of a dress will be allowed on hired dresses;
5.2. Alterations may be charged at The Love Generation’ hourly rate from time to time; I understand that because all The Love Generation garments are Altered or made to order, there are no returns or exchanges for any items ordered. All rentals/sales are final. Custom-made order cancellations will result in the deposit being forfeited;
5.3. Alterations and cost thereof will be agreed on at on the First Fitting and any alterations required thereafter may subject to an additional alteration fee and if time permits it to still be done before the wedding day based on our hourly rate on the given date;
5.4. No alterations may be done to hired dresses by the customer or any other person other than The Love Generation Bridal;
5.5. In the event that the Customer buys a Dress, The Love Generation offers the service of altering the Dress at the Customer’s request (if practically possible) and to the customers specifications, which alterations will be charged at The Love Generation Bridal hourly rate from time to time;
6. RETURN POLICY
6.1. The rental period is for the period agreed upon, I understand that I am responsible for return of the gown within this period. I must notify The Love Generation if I am going to extend the rental time period before the 24-hour rental time is up;
6.2. In no case does the hire agreement cover a period greater than 5 days;
6.3. Rentals must be back on the agreed return date before 4pm,if the dress is not returned by the agreed return date, the dress becomes the property of the rental party and the deposit will be retained and the renting party will be charged for the full retail price of the gown by The Love Generation as a sale of the dress will be deemed to have taken place.
6.4. If a rental dress is non-returnable due to loss or theft, the dress becomes the property of the rental party and the deposit will be retained and the renting party will be charged for the full retail price of the gown by The Love Generation as a sale of the dress will be deemed to have taken place.
6.5. The customer accepts that any costs incurred returning items to the branch are for the customer account.
7. DAMAGE, LOSS AND/OR DESTRUCTION
7.1. Should any damage occur to a Dress that is rented, The Love Generation will charge a reasonable fee to do the necessary repair and/or replacement of the Dress to make it fit for restocking. Due to the nature of the goods in question, being wedding dresses, sometimes minor damage may necessitate that the Dress be replaced entirely.
7.2. The gown will be returned in the same condition that it was given to me, with the exception of expected slight wear (Includes dust/dirt on underside of hem and train and slight perspiration only.)
Accidental damage including, but not limited to:
1.Splitting of seams
2.Damage to zippers
3.and Loss or damage to buttons or beadwork
7.3. Loss, theft or malicious damage including, but not limited to:
7.3.1 Damage of garments due to spillage;
7.3.2 Severe hem stains (like motor oil, blood, food)
7.3.3 Any bodice stains or front of garment stains
7.3.4 Cigarette burns to garments; and
7.3.5 Any rips, tears when gown comes into contact with sharp objects
7.3.6 Dress covers are loaned at no extra cost but are subject to a surcharge of R250.00 each if not returned or returned damaged.
7.3.7 Veils, petticoats and any other bridal accessories hired at an extra cost are subject to a surcharge decided by The Love Generation if not returned or returned damaged.
8. DESIGNS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
8.1 All intellectual property in the designs of the dresses remain the property of The Love Generation. No dress may be copied, reproduced or replicated and the Customer will not allow and/or participate in and/or commission any such work.
8.2 Merchandise colours may vary on screen.
8.3 This agreement constitutes the whole of the agreement between the parties relating to the subject matter hereof, notwithstanding any acceptance, order or other documentation or discussion to the contrary;
8.4 No amendment or consensual cancellation of this agreement or any term of this agreement, including this clause, or of any agreement, bill of exchange or other document issued or executed pursuant to or in terms of this contract, shall be binding unless recorded in a written document signed by a duly authorised representative from both parties;
10. CANCELLATION POLICY

The Love Generation reserves the right to cancel this Agreement with 5 (five) days notice to the Customer in the event the Customer is in breach of a term of this Agreement;
Cancellation by the Customer will be subject to the following cancellation fees:
10.1 The first fitting – after 7 days cooling off period – 50% of the deposit;
After any alteration has been done or any follow up fittings have occurred after the first fitting - 100% of the deposit;
10.2 Should the wedding date be postponed, the above cancellation policy will continue to apply, however, The Love Generation will afford the Customer a discount if the Customer returns to rent and/or buy a Dress for the new wedding date and is able to provide proof of payment of the full Purchase Price and/or cancellation fee;
11. VARIATION AND CANCELLATION
11.1 No agreement changing, adding to, deleting from or cancelling this agreement, and no waiver (whether specifically, by implication or by conduct) of any right to enforce any term of this agreement, including this clause, shall be effective unless it is in writing and signed by or on behalf of each of the parties. Parties will not be able to change these terms verbally;
12. LIMITED LIABILITY
12.1. In the event that the rental dress has been stolen or damaged and The Love Generation is unable to supply the client with the ordered dress or replace the wedding dress in time for the wedding date, the client will have the option to rent another available dress from The Love Generation at any value or alternatively be refunded in full;
12.2. The Love Generation will not be liable for any damages relating but nor limited to:
⦁ Cancellation of the wedding.
⦁ Any acts of God, riots which may affect the wedding.
⦁ Any late arrivals of gowns resulting from delayed orders from late payments made;
12.3. If The Love Generation is at fault, directly or indirectly for any defects in any item ordered or the late delivery of such item, The Love Generation’s liability will be limited to the value of the cost of hire of the item and no subsequent damages will be claimable from The Love Generation, its members or its representatives;
12.4. In the event that the rental dress has been stolen or damaged and The Love Generation is unable to supply the client with the ordered dress or replace the wedding dress in time for the wedding date, the client will have the option to rent another available dress from The Love Generation at any value or alternatively be refunded in full;
12.5. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the event date or wedding date is stated correctly on the order form, quotation and invoice.
12.6. It is the customer’s responsibility to check received articles for correctness of size, colour and style WHILST COLLECTING ITEMS TO ENSURE THAT ALL HIRED ITEMS ARE CORRECT, COMPLETE AND IN GOOD CONDITION. The Love Generation will not be liable for any loss suffered by a Customer who does not comply with this clause, nor will The Love Generation be liable for any loss of profit or any indirect or consequential loss suffered;
12.7. The customer accepts that the hirer accepts no responsibility to the customer or third party for loss, damage to property or injury to person(s) in any form. Dresses and accessories are hired and used at the customers risk;
12.8. The customer accepts that any costs incurred returning items to the branch are for the customer account;
13.1 No lenience shown/granted by a party shall constitute a waiver of any of that party’s rights under this agreement;
14. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
14.1. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement concluded between the Parties and no variation, consensual cancellation, variation of, or addition hereto, including this clause, shall be of any force or effect unless reduced to writing and signed by the duly authorised representatives of both Parties;
15.1 In the event of the invalidity of any part or portion of this agreement for any reason whatsoever, such invalidity shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other part or provision of this agreement and such invalid part or portion shall be deemed to have been struck out of the agreement;
16.1 In terms of Section 45 of the Magistrate’s Court Act 1944, as amended, the parties hereby consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court having jurisdiction in terms of Section 28 of the said Act, in respect of a ny action which may be instituted by one party against another in terms of this agreement;
17. DOMICILIA AND NOTICES
17.1 The Customer chooses its domicilium address for the delivery of any legal notices as completed below;
18.1. In the event that The Love Generation brings any action to enforce or protect any of its rights under this Agreement, it shall be entitled to recover, in addition to its damages, its attorneys’ fees on a scale as between attorney and own client, as well as any other costs incurred in connection with such action.
18.2. This Agreement shall become valid on signature hereof by both parties.
